Q1 update

Q1 update

It’s been another busy quarter, which will see further useful changes and updates to our Governance Risk and Compliance library of courses.

      Converted to eCreator 2.0

UNI_084: An Introduction to MiFID II

This course has undergone significant updates to the context to bring the course into the present day. We have enhanced the graphics through a conversion of the course into our authoring tool, eCreator 2.0. We have also made an update to the criteria for quantitative and qualitative testing for clients who wish to opt-up to ‘elective professional’ client categorisation; and updated our references to the SUP (supervision) manual in relation to MiFID II requirements.

      UNI_023: COBS Appropriateness

There’s no technical change to the content here. However, to help the learning experience, we’ve broken down the longest activity into two shorter, more manageable activities. While doing this we’ve also taken the opportunity to streamline some of the wording (although what it says remains the same). In addition, we’ve also added a useful summary of key points to take away from the pathway. On top of all that, the whole pathway will benefit from being moved to our eCreator 2 template, thereby giving it a great, fresh new look and feel. This of course also includes the functionality for administrators to print the course to a PDF.

      UNI_051: COBS Best execution

There’s no technical changes to the content here. However, to help the learning experience, we’ve broken down the longest activity (30 screens approx.) into two shorter, more manageable, activities. While doing this, we’ve taken the opportunity to streamline some of the wording (although what it says remains the same), plus of course the whole pathway will benefit from a great, fresh, new look and feel in our eCreator 2 template.

      UNI_052: COBS Client categorisation

There’s no technical change to the content here. However, to help the learning experience, we’ve broken down the longest activity (30 screens approx.) into two shorter, more manageable activities. While doing all this we’ve also taken the opportunity to streamline some of the wording (although what it says remains the same). On top of all that, the whole pathway will benefit from being moved to our eCreator 2 template, thereby giving it a great, fresh new look and feel. This of course also includes the functionality for administrators to print the course to a PDF.

      UNI_053: COBS Dealing and Managing

We now fully cover inducements and gifts and entertainments in our pathway entitled COBS Essentials. We have therefore removed the coverage of this topic from this pathway. Other than that, there’s no technical change to the content here.

      UNI_055: COBS Suitability

There’s one technical change to the content here; we’ve updated it to reflect the latest provisions on record keeping. Then, to help the learning experience, we’ve broken down the longest activity (30 screens approx.) into three shorter, more manageable activities. While doing this we’ve also taken the opportunity to streamline some of the wording (although what it says remains the same). In addition, of course the whole pathway will benefit from a great, fresh new look and feel in our eCreator 2 template.

      Standard Quarterly Updates

UNI_078: Consumer credit - handling arrears

There’s no technical change to the content here. However, to help the learning experience, we’ve streamlined some of the wording (although what it says remains the same). In addition, we’ve also added a useful summary of key points to the end of each activity, plus an overall downloadable summary of key points.

      UNI_010: Countering bribery and corruption

This course has undergone some minor content amendments to improve content flow and improve clarity on how an offer of gifts or entertainment after a contract signing can be an issue in influencing further decisions. We have also enhanced the content on facilitation payments and the four offences of the Bribery Act that relate overseas.

      UNI_011: Managing conflicts of interest

There’s no technical change to the content here. However, to help the learning experience, we’ve made some enhancements for you.

Firstly, we’ve added an interactive video to illustrate some key points. Then secondly, we’ve broken down what’s involved here into shorter, more manageable activities. While doing this, we’ve also taken the opportunity to streamline some of the wording (although what it says remains the same).

      UNI_075: FATCA

There’s no technical change to the content.

      Certificates:

We have now enabled certificates on all GRC content on both Complianceserve.com and Compliance.Skillsserve.com

Conduct Risk and Treating Customers Fairly - Q1 2020 Update

In Q3 and Q4 of 2019 we published notification of intended changes for the Conduct Risk and TCF course. Due to feedback from our client and partners and recent highlighting of the increased need for comprehensive conduct risk training, we have made a decision to rescind the changes for this course.

We are however pleased to announce that in Q2 we are adding content around the topic of Financial Inclusion to enhance the learning experience around this important initiative in relation to Treating Customers Fairly.

We also launched our brand new Risk and Operational Resilience in Q4.
