Q3 Blog

Q3

IT’S BEEN ANOTHER BUSY QUARTER, WHICH WILL SEE FURTHER USEFUL CHANGES AND UPDATES TO OUR GOVERNANCE RISK AND COMPLIANCE LIBRARY OF COURSES.

GOVERNANCE, RISK AND COMPLIANCE

UNI_027: Introduction to the Prudential Regulation Authority

The changes to this course include new content on how the PRA make policies and some minor content amendments to improve word count and flow of information.

UNI_054: Senior Management Arrangements, Systems & Controls

In this course we have made amendments to improve the flow and context of content. We have also added some new content on the definition of Material Outsourcing / references to FCA guidance changes regarding COVID-19 and changes to Senior Manager Responsibilities during COVID-19.

UNI_066: Certification regime

We have made general amends through out in order to improve readability and flow of information. We have also amended our content on Senior Manager Functions in relation to their part in the Senior Manager regime.

UNI_067: The Regulatory Framework

There have been some context amendments to bring information into the present day regarding the solo regulated firms deadline of Dec 2019. We have made some general improvements to content for flow and readability. We have also updated content on ‘Assessment and Certification’ to show that the training deadline on Conduct Rules for solo regulated firms has been moved to March 31st 2021 by the FCA due to COVID 19.

UNI_068: Senior managers regime

Throughout the content we have made some changes to the wording and flow of the content to improve readability.

We have also made a change to the section on ‘Fit & Proper’ to include the role of a delegated nominee for ensuring compliance with the requirements of a ‘fit and proper’ individual.

UNI_073: The Basics of CASS

We have enhanced content in relation to TTFAs and why a client would relinquish control of assets and forego CASS protections on those assets.

We have made a number of small text amends to improve readability and flow of information.

UNI_080: Culture and Ethics

There’s no technical change to the content here. However, to give the content a current feel, we have wrapped the existing case study around a situation involving a firm and its staff reacting to the Coronavirus pandemic, with culture in mind. The actual content and messages itself remains the same though.

UNI_086: General Data Protection

There’s no technical change to the content here at the moment. However, this course is likely to change post a Brexit agreement. Meanwhile, to help the learning experience, we have re-ordered some of the screens to help the flow. While doing this, we’ve also taken the opportunity to streamline and re-focus some of the wording (although what it fundamentally says remains the same).

UNI_088: Anti-money laundering and countering terrorist financing

There’s no technical change to the content here. However, to help the learning experience, you may notice we’ve tweaked some of the wording, although what it says remains fundamentally the same. We’ve also tweaked the wording in some of the Activity titles too, so that they are more reflective of the content, although again the content itself remains fundamentally unchanged.

UNI_095: Whistleblowing with confidence

There’s no technical change to the content here. However, to help the learning experience, we’ve made some enhancements for you.

Firstly, we’ve changed the running order of some of the screens into what we think is now a more logical flow, bearing in mind what’s now involved with this subject. Then, secondly, we’ve added an interactive video for you, to highlight all the key points about whistleblowing. In due course you’ll also therefore be able to use this as a valuable standalone refresher.
