Raspberry Thursday As Unicorn Mark's 25th Year With Rebrand [caption id="attachment_2373" align="alignleft" width="225"]CEO, Peter Phillips, celebrates Unicorn's new look CEO, Peter Phillips, celebrates Unicorn's new look[/caption] We've come a long way since the days of floppy disks and giant pixels – leading international eLearning company, Unicorn Training, ushered in our 25th Birthday year with a funky new facelift and party at our Bournemouth HQ today (Thursday 10 January). To mark the start of our 2013 Silver Anniversary celebrations, Unicorn has undergone a complete rebrand, courtesy of Bournemouth brand communications agency, Mad River. Unicorn have been at the forefront of online learning solutions for the financial services industry since 1988. In recent years Unicorn, who also have offices in London, the US and India, have extended our client portfolio to businesses outside the financial world. Unicorn are planning a number of other anniversary celebration events during the year but CEO Peter Phillips admits it feels great to start the next chapter in the Unicorn story with a new look. He said: “It's been quite a journey from the early days of delivering courses on floppy disks that really were floppy, with a choice of two four-colour palettes, to having hosted over two million online study sessions in over 1,000 organisations, including many of the world’s biggest financial institutions and professional bodies, helping learners to be better at what they do and, critically, enjoy the learning experience. “The opportunities that constantly evolving technology presents to a company like ours makes Unicorn an exciting and fun place to work. Creating effective online learning experiences can be as adventurous as creating games now such are the platforms and technologies open to us. “It’s an environment that never stands still, so what we deliver to clients has to remain fresh and interesting. People learn and retain information better if they have fully engaged with the subject matter. Our ethos is put yourself in the users’ shoes. If you wouldn’t want to do it, why would they? Our new look is a reflection of our continuing evolution and at the same time our enduring commitment to good design.” Most recently a learning tool developed by Unicorn for the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) to support financial advisers in meeting the challenges of the industry-changing Retail Distribution Review (RDR) won a top international eLearning accolade - a hugely-prestigious 2012 Brandon Hall Excellence in Technology Bronze Award. Meanwhile, Technical Director and founding director, Henry Phillips, also won Britain’s leading eLearning industry award for 'Outstanding Individual Achievement’ in November.
