Overview

We’re pleased to announce SkillsServe 4.16 launched in March 2014.

What’s new in this version?

Changes made via the Organisation Information portlet are now tracked

Is it a new feature or an upgrade?This is an upgrade to the Organisation Information portlet.
How it works…If a user has the Organisation Information portlet set up on their homepage they are able to move themselves from one Organisation to another in SkillsServe’s hierarchy system. These movements are now tracked in the Change Log tab of a user’s profile.

Why is this beneficial?This keeps a record of a user’s movements within the SkillsServe hierarchy, helping to keep track of their movements on the site.
Default or configurable?This is a configurable part of SkillsServe 4.16. For more information please contact your account manager or the Helpdesk at helpdesk@unicorntraining.com or on 0844 800 3316.



Prices can be added to Document activities

Is it a new feature or an upgrade?This is an upgrade to the payments system on SkillsServe.
How it works…Prices can now be added to Document activities in SkillsServe.

Why is this beneficial?It’s now possible to charge a fee for an activity that you can create yourself.
Default or configurable?This is a default part of SkillsServe 4.16 for sites with the payment feature enabled.


Documents can now be sorted by name or date of upload

Is it a new feature or an upgrade?This is an upgrade to the way documents are displayed in a user’s profile.
How it works…Documents within a user’s profile can now be sorted either by Document Name or Upload Date by clicking on the arrows by each title.

Why is this beneficial?This ability to sort documents makes it easier to find what you are looking for.
Default or configurable?This is a default part of SkillsServe 4.16.


Wider range of files can be added to the Documents section of users’ profiles

Is it a new feature or an upgrade?This is an upgrade to the Documents tab in users’ profile.
How it works…SkillsServe previously only allowed certain file types to be uploaded (see image below) but it now allows a much greater range. As long as the file type has been specified to us beforehand you will be able to upload it as a document to the site.

Why is this beneficial?This upgrade makes SkillsServe more flexible as it allows you to upload a file type that was not previously supported.
